Tucked between the forests and the mountains of Southern Poland you’ll find Wooden Story, the historic family-run carpentry business behind some of Harrods’ most charming handmade toys. Every miniature bus, car and Green Man is the culmination of woodworking skills and knowledge honed over generations, and the meticulous nature of the wooden toys manufacturing process is a testament to the love that goes into all Wooden Story’s creations. Each of our handcrafted wooden toys begin life as raw planks of wood (all sourced in Poland), which are then sliced, planed, sanded and cut into shape. These different production stages all take place in the peaceful workshops that stand just next door to the company founders’ picturesque family home. The wooden toys are then hand-painted and carefully finished, undergoing one final quality check before they can be packaged and sent to Harrods. The result? Pieces that are made to be treasured for years to come – from one family’s story, to your own.
