Hi everyone! We finally got around to doing our first 3D ultrasound! We actually thought we would be able to find out the baby’s sex but it’s still too early and the baby just can’t stop moving (I think it’s genetic!). We did the standard pre-consultation procedures (weight check + blood pressure check) before waiting for our number to be called so we could have the ultrasound done and have the doctor’s consultation. Just to clarify, though, the 3D ultrasound is included in the National Health Insurance cover so were not supposed to pay for anything during the appointment. The only payment we made was for the ultrasound videos to be recorded and saved in a cloud. The payment was a bit steep because it covers all ultrasound videos until the end of our pregnancy, which is still kinda awesome! We hope you enjoyed watching this video and it helps prepare you for when you decide to get checked in a hospital here as well. As a note, most professional staff here speak exclusively in Japanese so it’s very helpful if you can bring along a friend, relative or partner who can speak the language.
