Visuals are far more than just a visual picture of an object. Discover strategies to use more visuals in the classroom in a new way. Visuals are far more than just a laminated picture of an object. Think of ways you can use the environment as a visual to help children communicate. You can use what we call a "remnant" (a visual that represents an activity) to communicate what they are going to do next. Many nonverbal children also respond well to signing. Pair the visual with the word to help the child learn to respond to words.
