Various of sea at sunset STORYLINE Last December entire villages vanished and thousands died across the tropical archipelago of Andaman and Nicobar in the Indian Ocean. But in the mathematics of one of the world's greatest natural disasters, the tsunami seems to have given something back with one hand as it took away with the other. Until the morning of 26 December 2004 when the tsunami battered many of its 500-plus islands, Andaman and Nicobar was India's outback, islands of picturesque beaches, dense forests and clear blue waters where life was laidback and slow. But tsunami changed all that. Displaced from their homes , they are now living in temporary shelters, away from their once beloved sea.
