Like and Subscribe! Zambian Music uploaded Tuesdays and Fridays. Todays' recording comes from Kalambo Hit Parade. The song, from 1986, is in Mambwe and lives up to the name of the band with a catchy melody and excellent guitar work. This one is pretty catchy. This starts the new batch of records I've recently received. The record quality should be a lot better for most recordings moving forward. According to music historian Leonard Koloko, Kalambo Hit Parade was originally made up of a trio of musicians, three brothers from northeastern Zambia. Their music was primarily in the Mwambe language. Eventually the trio became a duo, who primarily played complimenting guitars. The members that remained in the duo were Noah and James Siame. Unfortunately, Koloko doesn't provide much other detail about the band.
