End of Winter off grid in Norway | Juniper berry candies & resin ointment ++ | Homestad Diary

We have reached the final part of winter on our little off-grid Homestead in Norway. The sheep and wool pigs receive their daily care, and a sudden weather change with warmer temperatures makes me in a hurry to empty out all the animal houses on to the vegetable field. The pigs happily get to work and immediately start digging around. Our white german Shepard dog and I take a trip into the forest to gather spruce sap, which I make into an ointment that a rooster gets to try first on some wounds. Then I pick juniper berries and make a special Norwegian candy with honey and a juniper berry brew, a version of treak, It tastes amazing.
