The Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) held open meetings to address questions and comments on the management of Mormon crickets and grasshoppers on Nevada’s public lands. The purpose of the meeting is to address questions and comments from interested persons on the possible use of Dimilin®, Malathion, and 2% and 5% carbaryl bait to control Mormon crickets and grasshoppers on land administered by the Bureau of Land Management. Districts covered include Carson, Winnemucca, Elko, Ely, and Battle Mountain. This pesticide use proposal is for crop protection, residential protection, and public safety.
