Props: Pilates Ball Focus: Deep Core/Psoas, Transverse Abdominals, Hip Flexors Difficulty Rating: 3 (intermediate) Duration: 15 Minutes Machine Set-Up at START: 1Y (extra light) spring ON Headrest DOWN Pilates Ball ready (*not fully inflated) Only have time for quick workout? Why not hit those abs with this deep core focused 15 minute ab blast! All you will need for this challenge is your 8-10” Pilates Ball. Please make sure your ball is not 100% inflated. If the ball has a bit of pliability or squish to it you will be able to find a deeper connection to the pelvic floor and stability through the pelvis as you work with gorgeous form firing up those deep abdominals! If you do not have a ball, grab a stuffed animal or a small throw pillow! Endurance strength will be the focus as you work through rotation and the recruitment of your psoas in teaser! In this 15 minute flow I speak a lot about your hip flexors and learning how to relieve the hip flexors from doing all the work when it comes to holding your legs up in air. It is not bad to feel your hip flexors, they need to be strengthened too! But they should not be doing all the work! Let’s get that deep core involved!! I give this workout a difficulty rating of 3 (intermediate) because they layers allow you to get into each sequence slowly. If a layer becomes too challenging for your body at this time you just continue to work at the layer below. Throughout the teaser work you can always keep your heels connected to the headrest as well for more support and if the body isn’t quite ready for both legs in mid-air. Listen to your body! Pliates is a progression! The more you practice and the more you able to recruit the core during movement the more the body will be able to handle. I want to know what you think!
