Her story collection Pilgrims was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway award while The Last American Man was a finalist for both the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award. Leïla Slimani’s first novel Dans le Jardin de l'ogre was published in 2014. Two years later, she won the Prix Goncourt with her second novel, Chanson douce. She is also a journalist, activist and author of the nonfiction book Sexe et mensonges, about the sexual life of Moroccan women. Avni Doshi completed her BA in Art History from Barnard College in New York and went on to do an MA in History of Art at University College London. While working as an art writer and curator in India, she began writing fiction in her spare time. She has been awarded the Tibor Jones South Asia Prize and a Charles Pick Fellowship. Girl in White Cotton is her first novel. John Lanchester’s five novels and four works of nonfiction have won numerous prizes and been translated into 30 languages. He is a regular contributor to The New Yorker and the London Review of Books. Howard Jacobson has written 16 novels and six works of nonfiction. He won the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Writing in 2000 for The Mighty Walzer and again in 2013 for Zoo Time. In 2010, he won the Man Booker Prize for The Finkler Question and was also shortlisted for the prize in 2014 for J.
