Welcome aboard the Warbird Experience beautiful T6 Harvard ‘Wacky Wabbit’ as we head out to honour the men of 617 Dambusters Squadron. Departing Peterborough Conington, former RAF Glatton home of 457th Bomb Group B-17’s (flights available from Manchester Barton too), we head out over RAF Scampton, departure point and home of 617 Squadron in 1943. From there we head into the beautiful scenery of the Peak District and over the Derwent valley. Ladybower Dam was famously used as a training target for the Dambusters prior to the iconic operation on 16/17th May 1943. As we tip in to the valley, imagine flying a Lancaster at 60 feet and 220 miles per hour! That’s just half a wingspan of the Lancaster! After paying tribute, we head for home, back to the historic airfield of Conington (Glatton) with a loop and a roll overhead. You can experience this amazing trip!
