How to Organize Kitchen Drawers | Organize with Me

Kitchen drawer organizing is the first step towards a more organized kitchen -- so come organize with me and let’s get your drawers in shape! In this video, I walk you through each step on how to clear the clutter, reduce the mayhem and restore order in drawers so your kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. Let’s get started! [0:25] Step 1: Empty Your Drawer! The first step to organizing a kitchen drawer is figuring out what’s inside of it - so take everything out! [1:35] Step 2: Sort & Categorize As you take things out, start grouping like with like – utensils and silverware are easy items to sort, but once you get into drawers with cooking or food prep tools, create broad categories to group items together: for example, long cooking utensils like spoons, spatulas and tongs; “openers” like a garlic press, lemon juicer and can opener; or measuring tools like measuring spoons and thermometers. [5:24] Step 3: Clean & Measure Let’s clean out that drawer to remove all the crumbs, and then measure the drawer’s width, depth & height. Try to get precise measurements down to 1/8” if you are going to install drawer organizers, and measure down to 1/16” if you are going to line that drawer with a liner. [7:22] Step 4: Choose Your Organizer By their very nature, drawers will get unorganized!
