Use Vinegar to Lose Body Fat! Or should I say ‘loose’ based on the original reel LOL? So this is an example of partial truth mixed in with nonsense. So 1st of all, if adding vinegar works so great to lose fat, why are they waiting til week 2 of this method to add it in? This is an example of creating arbitrary guidelines in order to seem like these people have a secret method Now @glucosegoddess says you can take in vinegar & still stay in fat burning mode. While studies on vinegar do suggest it may decrease the blood glucose & insulin response to a meal, this is only true of a high glycemic index (GI) meal & not lower GI meals (PMID: 20502468). Here is the issue, they are claiming vinegar can allow you to eat dessert & lower your blood glucose & insulin responses, but that is ONLY true of high GI meals. Now you may think that desserts fall under that category, but you might be surprised. Pure glucose is 100 on the GI scale & above 70 is considered high GI while anything under a 55 is considered low GI. Guess what the GI of chocolate cake is? 38. Ice cream? 60. Pecan pie? 59. These are all desserts that are low or moderate GI. How is this possible? Because they are mixed meals high in carbs but also high in fats. Fats, proteins, & fiber in mixed meals can decrease the GI of any food (PMID: 30984356) So I guess vinegar is cool if you care about decreasing your GI response to a meal that ONLY has high GI carbs & nothing else in it, ok I guess. But it’s unlikely to help you lose fat given that supplementing with vinegar in more tightly controlled studies has not shown it to increase fat oxidation, resting energy expenditure, or energy expenditure from exercise (PMID: 34055150) If you think vinegar is going to allow you to plow down desserts & still lose fat, then by all means be my guest. It does appear that it may improve appetite, so it may have utility, but it’s not going to allow you to eat whatever you want & still lose fat (PMID: 16015276) sorry it just doesn’t work that way Get my research review REPS: biolayne.com/REPS Get my new nutrition coaching app, Carbon Diet Coach: http://onelink.to/9h4d62 My research based supplements: http://www.outworknutrition.com Get my books on how to lose fat: http://www.biolaynestore.com Take my online course "The Science of Nutrition": https://chfi.click/laynenorton_online Get Custom Workouts by me for $12.99/month: https://biolayne.com/workout-builder/ / laynenorton / biolayne / biolayne
