Backwater Jack's RV Park in Karnak, TX located on the Big Cyprus Bayou Dates: November 1-3, 2024 Campsite: Primitive (no water), there is access to bathrooms/showers Total paddle distance on Saturday: around 7.5 miles We paddled the Big Cypress Bayou connected to Caddo Lake. This is one of my all time favorite places in the world. As you can tell it is just magical! Friday night upon arrival we headed out for the night paddle and we had around 28 paddlers with us! It was dark that night and not a ton of wildlife this time, but it was still spooky and magical weaving in and out of those tall eery Cyprus trees. Saturday we started out late, trying to let the rain pass. Clearly that didn't work, but I have no regrets about the rain, it made it even more magical with the rain! Thank you Steven for taking on your role as kayak enthusiast and organizing such an amazing trip once again and thank you Val/Steven for cooking for us! I can't wait to go back to this magical place!
