Thoughts: So you though all the Battletoads games were hard and unplayable? Not this one. Unlike the ones at home and on handhelds this one is actually beatable and awesome to boot! You get to play as all three toads and Robo Manus is the last boss this time around. The arcade Battletoads is it's own game featuring violence, gore, and a particular sense of humor you may or may not find funny. For the record I found it hilarious. Not sure what the story is about, but it doesn't really matter in this case. As with all the Battletoads games this one is a beat'em'up as well. You can pull off special moves by doing certain inputs or in certain situation. These moves can turn your limbs into axes, blunt objects or other weapons that cause destruction. Some of these moves are pretty brutal like grabbing the giant muscular rat guy's balls and punching him in the gut rapidly. The rat guy is named General Vermin by the way. One of these moves even chopped off a minor rat enemies head! So yeah these moves are pretty crazy and violent. The game controls pretty well so no problems there. The music is composed by David Wise who composed the first two Donkey Kong Country games and the two SNES Battletoads games among many others. He is very well known in the video game industry. Check out his work! I highly recommend this game. You can easily pick it up as it's on Rare Replay for the Xbox One and is compatible with the Xbox Series. Rare Replay is it's only port which is sad. If you don't have an Xbox you can emulate it on Mame. Play this one it's really good unlike the other Battletoads games.
