This is the first episode of the series "The Clouds Gather" which is based around the rise of the Nationalist Socialists in Germany and the build up to the Second World War. Background - Hitler and the Nazies held several Nuremberg rallies throughout the 1930s to gather support for their party and to show off the prowess of their new military, and one of the ways they did this was by the introduction and improvement of the German militaries uniforms. The Episode focuses on the uniforms of different branches of the German Military during a typical Nuremberg Rally in the late 1930s. The Army would've been dressed in grey tunics, whilst the Luftwaffe would've been dressed in a darker blue style tunic to represent their branch. Everything about the uniforms is accurate down to the details on the flags and the pipings on their uniform. As you can see the soldiers have white piping along the side of their trousers and across their collars, cuffs and tunics. White piping represents the Infantry, whilst the Drummer from the Artilley Regiment has red piping to indicate that he is from an Artillery Regiment.
