Notes from this training session: ⭐ All the techniques within Muay Thai are useful, but it’s what works for you that you should put your focus on. ⭐ When kicking, try to expand your back foot and then step forward to spring off and get some power going. Open up your pelvis to get very good forward momentum going. ⭐ When you elbow, you can surprise your opponent with the front elbow and step off to the side–instead of just staying there in front of your opponent after the elbow. ⭐ Your front elbow can be a fake or a surprise. It’s not always a thumping shot. Try to turn your opponent when you’re using the lead elbow. You can throw that elbow like if it’s a jab. Remember to snap your jab as well. The nature of your lead is all surprise and fakes. Your lead should be constantly snapping and not thumping. ⭐ The front lead should be fast. It’s meant to be reactive. It’s also meant to annoy and disrupt the balance of your opponent. ⭐ Tell your self “I will do this fast” repeatedly. The way you think is the way you perform. ⭐ Use the first round of a fight to study your opponent and try to not make any mistakes.
