Jürgen Bellmann explains the deformation-based method of optimizing the cables of a cable stayed bridge, using SOFiSTiK´s Construction Stage Manager (CSM). The cable optimization is done by considering certain boundary conditions. Deflection at four cable application points and zero deflection at the pylon. As these boundaries do not result in a perfect system, Jürgen Bellmann explains how to optimize a single stage to have a deflection of zero for the application of the support. At this stage the only problem, which still has to be optimized is the kink at the middle connection of the cable stayed bridge. This can be done by considering a balast at the kinks intersection point to avoid defelction at this certain stage, which allows for a balanced moment distribution. Lastly Jürgen Bellmann gives a deeper insight in SOFiSTiK´s Construction Stage Managers optimization principle to explain why this task isn´t as simple as it seems. ♦Download the Project: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zp5tkk44lo4... ♦Nonlinear Force Optimization with Cable Sagging: • Nonlinear Force Optimization with Cable Sa...
