Can you beat the trainer in our brand new skipping rope challenge? This jump rope challenge is 6 rounds of freestyle skipping. Each round is 3 minutes followed by a minute rest period to recover. This has been done in a boxing metabolic conditioning style format, as it reflects the work to rest ratios of a real boxing match. However, anyone can try this workout. So long as you are reasonably fit and have a skipping rope then please challenge me and have a good go at this. I managed 2,816 jumps in 25 minutes so you'll need to be aiming for 150-170 skips per minute, every minute. This video has a 3 minute timer each round so don’t worry if you can’t manage the full 25 minutes of jumping rope - do as many rounds as you can to begin with and gradually build up to it. Jumping rope is a great cardio workout - it improves coordination, boosts metabolism and makes you sweat...a lot. In this skipping rope challenge, we’ll be doing freestyle skipping each round - so do whatever jump rope moves feel most comfortable for you. Don’t forget to do a thorough warm up before jumping into this challenge.
