Genesis 34-38: Jacob’s sons sinned, God kept His Word

Jacob’s sons were steeped deeply in sin. Despite this, the covenant given to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob still becomes fulfilled through them. The stories of Jacob’s sons serve to show us that we are never forsaken by God. Instead, God is always ready to extend His mercy to us and receive us into His embrace. God did this for the descendants of Jacob, something I have experienced myself. These men sinned terribly yet Jesus Christ still came to us to save us. Jesus Christ did this particularly through Judah’s line after a deceptive and lust filled act kept Judah’s lineage going. We may have our own sins but God is waiting for us to turn to Him so God can offer us His mercy. We can accept God’s mercy by turning to Jesus Christ through the Catholic Church that He founded. The Catholic Church offers the sacramental grace in confession and communion so we may grow closer to God each and every day through His Son, Jesus Christ. --- “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
