Join four Early College Program alum, Maya Evans, Neil Grasty, Nuala Mernin, and Kailyn Parks for the inside scoop on their diverse Early College experiences! Hear about what they learned, why they chose the program and how participating in ECP influenced their pursuit of a future in art + culture! About the Early College Program in Art History + Curatorial Studies, an initiative of the AUC Art Collective: What if four weeks studying art could change the rest of your life? If you’re a rising high school junior or senior, you can participate in an immersive program that’ll jumpstart your college journey. The Early College Program in Art History and Curatorial Studies is a co-educational program at Spelman College (June 21- July 19, 2024) designed to encourage rising junior and senior high school students of color to pursue undergraduate studies in art history and curatorial studies. Prior art history or museum experience is not required, however, students should demonstrate a curiosity about art and visual culture, museums and curating. During the four-week, free, program, students attend lectures, complete projects, participate in workshops and receive a Spelman College transcript verifying that they have earned three (3) credits in Art History and Curatorial Studies! The program is offered in partnership with the High Museum of Art, the leading art museum in the Southeast.
