Pateroller Song Fretless Banjo

Here is a variation on Hobart Smith’s song “The Pateroller’s Song” as learned from David Braggar’s clip here on YouTube with many thanks .I am playing this slower then David Bragger or Chris Berry to show the slides off. I really wanted to try this on fretless because of those notes that are back and forth from minor to major and how much fun they are with a loose slide that only fretless banjo can give . Because of the period the Song came from I wanted to do this on the Ashborn Style banjo my friend David Oakes has lent me .Ashborn’s banjos were made here in Litchfield county before and after the Civil war.I then played the same song on a great banjo made by Kevin Fore of Round Peak Banjos .Both are in sawmill tuning ..
