Join a peaceful early‑spring walking tour around Melton Mowbray, exploring historic streets, from the Anne of Cleves pub and St Mary’s Church, and to the beautiful Melton Country Park lake. Melton Mowbray is one of Leicestershire’s most historic market towns, famous for its traditional pork pies and rural surroundings. In this relaxing walking tour on a grey early spring day, I aim is to circle the town, although ongoing housing and road construction around the area sometimes makes this more of an adventure than perhaps I’d have liked. The walk begins near the historic Anne of Cleves public house and the beautiful St Mary’s Church progressing in a roughly clockwise direction through the streets, nearby fields and frequently the newer developments on the edge of town. An undoubted highlight is Melton Country Park along with its scenic lake and fabulous waterfowl, a favourite local spot for walkers, wildlife and families alike. This walk is one of a series of immersive walking experiences featuring real ambient sound so you can experience towns and countryside just as they are, with minimal on-camera comments. However, I provide some text context to the experience and my thinking as I head along my route. If you want to experience more relaxing but fascinating walking tours through the gorgeous British countryside, consider subscribing or leaving a like!
