This is almost a 12km Connemara Greenway cycle if you park at the Marconi station although the Errislannan Loop is intended to be Cycle Route 2 from Clifden which makes it 20km there and back. With parking at the Marconi loop walk Wild Atlantic Way discovery point you only have 600m of Regional road which is busy in summer to navigate before turning right onto the very quiet L single track roads of the loop. I've varied the loop to add the short additional side trips to Curhownagh harbour and Errislanan village and harbour. These only add about 2km and from the video you'll probably agree they are worthwhile but both to involve a descent back down to sea level and then climbing out again so you might skip either or both if your legs are rebelling. Apart from the magnifecent views of the 12 Bens and Clifden bay the other major feature is the Alcock and Brown memorial towards the end of the loop (it's downhill from there to the end). There's a small church of Ireland church before that and you also pass 3 lakes The road from Clifden to the start point at the Marconi station is busy however its part of Eurovelo 1 until you get to the bog road turn off so drivers should be anticipating cyclists. I end the video with some footage from the Marconi loop walk which is very worth doing for the views and what's left of the first trans Atlantic broadcasting station and of course the Alcock and Brown landing site in the middle of all this.
