ABSTRACT ART PAINTING Demo With Acrylic Paint, Silicone Sealant And A Homemade Brush Made From Nails

In this video I create a heavily textured Abstract painting by using DIY silicone sealant/caulk from a hardware store and mixing it with acrylic paint. Silicone is a cheaper alternative to thickening and extending your acrylic paints - it gives the acrylic an extremely heavy body and so textures and whipped peaks hold their shape without collapsing when drying. In this video I use a homemade brush gadget made from nails glued between 2 rulers. This is pushed through the thick silicone/acrylic mix over multiple passes. I stop when I feel the work has some kind of interesting, uniform finish. Have a go yourself and see what you can come up with.
