Bristol MP calls for action on damp and mould in council flats

With the introduction of Awaab's Law in October 2026, it should be 'case closed' on all the damp and mould casework in my constituency office. However, I'm bitterly disappointed to learn that Bristol City Council has not sufficiently prepared to be compliant with this new law. This is completely unacceptable, and I'll be heading down to City Hall in Bristol to get the answers that I need to support my constituents. In the meantime, I've been pursuing alternative action, hosting a roundtable at Ambition Lawrence Weston with local government officials and investors about the need to replace the flats in Lawrence Weston with modern blocks that offer safe and comfortable living accommodation for my constituents.
