This is the second part of a two-part series on native languages. In this episode, Carmen Sanchez Garcia and Joe Moody speak with Dr. Cheng-Fu Chen, Associate Professor of Chinese in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Mississippi, on Chinese and Taiwanese languages including his research on Rukai, a native language of Taiwan. Located 80 miles south of Memphis and 50 miles west of Tupelo, the University of Mississippi and its home, Oxford, serve as a crossroads for everything from Blues music to sustainable agriculture to the Civil Rights Movement. Each episode, library staff bring their interests and expertise to explore different facets of life at the university and in the city. Each episode features guests who discuss their research, careers, and passions. Along the way, these conversations highlight the ways in which libraries intersect with our everyday lives as sources of community, information, and innovation in the 21st century. Roundabout Oxford is hosted by Brian Corrigan, Joe Moody, Lauren Rogers, Carmen Sanchez, and Alex Watson, edited by Brian Corrigan, and features Gail Herrera. Music is by Brian Corrigan and Gail Herrera, and the program was originally developed by Brian Corrigan, Taylor Fields, Gail Herrera, Alan Munshower, Abbie Norris, Christina Streeter, and Alex Watson. The podcast is produced through the University of Mississippi Libraries.
