Key Points: Through both Jahal and Jahal Ajahal Lakshana Jnana of Shudh Chaitanya can be indicated. Through Jahal Lakshana Upadhi and Upahita Chaitanya are negated in order to indicate what is not included i.e. Anupahita Chaitanya or Shudh Chaitanya. In Aham Brahma Asmi, Antah karana is the Upadhi in which Cidabhasa is reflected Jahal Lakshana is used where both Antah Karana and Cidabhasa are negated and Shudh Chaitanya is indicated is taken. Brahma Shabda is taken as Sabhasa Ajnanam and Aham Shabda is taken as Sabhasa Ahankara then Shudh Chaitanya is indicated through Jahal Lakshana. Brahma is Avachya which does not have any Vacaka. Shudh Chaitanya Vachyatha is (a) in Sabhasa Ajnanam (b) In Sabhasa Ahankara. Lakshartha of Tvam pada and Tad pada is One. Adhisthanam of Sabhasa Ajnanam and Sabhasa Ahankara is One and that is CidAtma. When Brahma Shabda is taken as Sabhasa Ajnanam and Aham Shabda is taken Sabhasa Ahankara then Cidatma is indicated through Jahal Lakshana. For the Sadhaka who understands that Vachyartha of Brahman and Aham Shabda includes three things - Upadhi, Cidabhasa and Cidatma where Upadhi is Ahankara in Aham and Mula Ajnanam in Brahman then Jahal Ajahal Lakshana is taken Shudha Chaitanya. Someone may question Who has bondage? Cidabhasa or Anatma has bondage and Cidatma or Shudha Chaitanya is Mukta. Then Purva Paksha states that they are in different Adhikarana. Sidhantin clarifies that Cidatma when identified with Upadhi is Cidabhasa understands itself to be bound. Bondage is in Shudha Chaitanya due to aabhaas. Abhaas is removed only through Jnanam. It is only then bondage and liberation are in the same adhikarana not in different adhikarana. Cidabhasa which is kalpita, mithya, is gauna understanding of Cidatma. Its nasha will happen with Jnanam and Mukhya Swaroopa as Cidatma will ever remain.
