Throughout the years sugar beets were a very important commodity for the railways in Denmark, That goes for both the State Railways (DSB), local private railway companies, as well as narrow gauge lines run directly by the sugar factories. The 1950s, which is the era I am modelling, saw a boom in sugar beets production and transportation in Denmark, both for domestic consumption and for export to neighbouring Sweden and West-Germany. For this DSB made wide use of the the newly acquired UIC standard open wagons class P (later class E) seen in this small video. The models are from Roco.
