The wait is finally over, the quarter panels are welded onto the civic, and the civic rust is no more. I am sealing off the inside of the car with a self-etching primer to protect the bare metal in the meantime until I go ahead and paint the whole car. The hatchback project is going well and i couldn't be happier with the Honda rebuild. This time i flux core weld the panels with the butt welding method to try out an alternative to what i did on the passenger side, which was the flange technique. After doing both i have come to the conclusion that i prefer the butt weld method more. Yes, it is more time grinding and prepping the sheet metal to fit snug but its worth it. The fenders came out great and now we can move on to the fun stuff. After welding in the patch panels I finally moved on to the bottom of the car. The frame needed attention and the rust is gone, hopefully for good. I used the por15 rust paint to seal off the surface rust and it looks a thousand times better. A civic facelift for sure. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Its far but I am making my way there, and one day making it to 500hp too. Comment on how you think this fender repair came out.
