Among others, he speaks with Errol Musk, the father of the richest man in the world. For the past 30 years, South Africa has always been America's most loyal partner on the African continent. But since taking office, Trump has frozen hundreds of millions of dollars in aid and expelled the South African ambassador to the United States. He lied that a “white genocide” is taking place in South Africa and offered dozens of white South Africans refugee status. In this new Frontlinie, Bram Vermeulen travels to his former base in South Africa and investigates why Trump is so obsessed with the country. Among others, he speaks to Errol Musk, the father of the richest man in the world: South African-born Elon Musk, who helped Trump win the election. Bram also visits a group of white Afrikaner influencers who use social media to spread conspiracy theories about South Africa. And he visits the prominent team of lawyers who, on behalf of South Africa, filed the much-discussed complaint against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague. That complaint seems to have struck a nerve in Washington.
