Distinguished Indiana University professor Elinor Ostrom, the first woman to win a Nobel Prize for economics, died this week at age 78. Ostrom is remembered for a groundbreaking career that spanned more than 50 years. Indiana Public Media (WFIU-FM and WTIU-TV) will air a half-hour special entitled Elinor Ostrom: Celebration of a Nobel Life. The radio special will air on Thursday, June 14, at 7 p.m. and can be heard at 103.7 FM in the Bloomington listening area or streamed online at wfiu.org. A companion television special will air on Thursday, June 14, at 8:30 p.m. with repeat airings on Friday, June 15, at 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 17, at 10:30 p.m. WTIU can be seen over-the-air on channel 30, and on Comcast cable 5 in Bloomington. In Elinor Ostrom: Celebration of a Nobel Life we look at Ostrom's legacy, her worldwide impact and how she's being remembered.
