Welcome to my video! Journey into Angkor's Healing Past: Six Hospital Temples Revealed My friend and I embarked on the motorbike journeys for researching and studying ancient temples and several ancient hospital chapels surrounded former Angkor Thom city. The distance from Siem Reap city to the ancient temple, is approximately 20 km and takes time around 30 minutes by motorbike for one hospital chapel. We create the click videos of the ancient temples and hospital chapels to share with you, even though there is not a specific time yet to visit that place. • One of the hospital chapels describe is likely by local villagers. Prei Prasat temple or Chan Ta Oun temple. Prei means forest, Prasat means castle or temple and Chan means Moon, Ta means grandfather and Oun is the name of a person. • It translates literally to the words above, Forest temple for Prei Prasat temple and Chan Ta Oun temple translates literally to Grandfather Moon Oun temple. • Former Angkor Thom city is surrounded by six significant hospital chapels located just outside its perimeter gates or along its outer boundaries. Here are six of the most prominent hospital chapels surrounding the city: • 1. North: Prasat Tonle Snguot temple, hospital chapel just outside the North Gate of Angkor Thom city. • 2. South: Prasat Ta Prohm Kel temple, hospital chapel located directly opposite the main entrance of Angkor Wat temple. • 3. East: Prasat Leak Neang temple, hospital chapel positioned between Angkor Thom's Victory Gate and Ta Keo temple. • 4. West: Prasat Tro Moung temple or Ta Muong temple, hospital chapel located outside the West Gate of Angkor Thom city. • 5. Northwest: Prasat Chan Ta Oun or Prei Prasat temple, hospital chapel located about 800m northwest of the Angkor Thom city walls. • 6. East: Prasat Daun Troung temple or Plang Temple is another small site near the French Dam that follows the exact hospital chapel layout. These six hospital chapels were built by King Jayavarman VII in late 12th century or early 13th century. It designed a comprehensive healthcare system during his reign. • In this video is Prei Prasat temple or Chan Ta Oun temple. One of the six hospital chapels surrounded Angkor Thom city.
