Dr. Laurence Davidson: I am a pediatric neurosurgeon at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. I specialize in the care of children and adolescents with disorders of the brain and spine such as Chiari malformations, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, craniosynostosis, intracranial cysts, and spina bifida. I am particularly interested in minimally invasive procedures including endoscopic surgery. I enjoy the hands-on experience of treating pediatric neurosurgery patients—especially helping them return to doing the things they enjoy. I treasure working closely with each family and approach the management of their child as I would if I were treating one of my own family members. Families can expect a thorough explanation of the diagnosis and management options thereby allowing them to be as comfortable as possible making treatment decisions. I received board certification from The American Board of Neurological Surgery and The American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery for the dual credential in the focused practice of pediatric neurological surgery. In addition to providing patient care, I am also involved in clinical research to further understand and improve treatment options and outcomes for our patients.
