Building a Handmade V12 XJ220 - Chassis CAD Design & Fabrication

How do you start designing a chassis for a custom built one-off XJ220? Well fortunately, Trevor has already developed his own modular mid engined chassis to suit the Jaguar V12 engine for his previous projects, including the stunning Jaguar XJ13. The modular chassis has a tube frame tub with a triple bulkhead rear section. The first and second bulkheads sit either side of the engine separated by engine spars and the third bulkhead sits at the back of the gearbox. The engine and gearbox are hard mounted and are stressed members and a bespoke suspension cradle sits above the gearbox which holds the rear suspension mounts and pushrod shocks. Jaguar uprights and hubs are used throughout - the goal of the build is to produce a high performance car that is easy to service and maintain. Want to keep up to date?
