You Didn’t Know | Hazbin Hotel Swap AU Animatic

...You didn't know there's a secret rehabilitation hotel in Limbo? ++++++ From start to finish, the Exorcists were combative and unyielding. Cain had proved himself to be willing to change, that he wasn't the same person he was 10,000 years prior. Sera tried to plead with Emily to see the light regarding redemption but Emily remained stubborn about championing extermination. Adam’s patience had worn thin and cut between the two sisters’ bickering. As he was fighting to defend his firstborn, Abel once again tried to shut down the discussion of redeeming sinners. He gloated that Adam was running out of time for the next Extermination Day. Cain, increasingly angry at his younger brother’s behavior, snarkily shot back that he hoped the hotel in Limbo would prove them all wrong about redemption. This was not something he should have revealed. Adam and the Redemptionists had been illegally running the hotel in Limbo without the authorization of the other Elders. Hell is located at the edge of Limbo and it was possible to sneak a few sinners back and forth between realms without Hell or Heaven noticing. None of this was possible without Sera’s involvement. Redemption was something certain winners such as Adam championed but was never put to the test. Adam was at his limit sitting by without putting the theory into action which is why he conspired with Sera. Sera’s authority meant it was possible to cover up and transport Lute between realms to shuttle the sinner test group back and forth. Cain was aware of the project but Adam failed to emphasize that he shouldn't reveal this. Only a small group of Redemptionist winners knew. The plan was to redeem a soul which in turn would change the minds of the Elders and allow the hotel to function in an official capacity while also halting exterminations. Adam had hoped to have had a redeemed soul by now but things got derailed with Extermination Day being expedited and Cain’s arrival in Heaven causing familial turmoil. He had no time to work with, the hotel had barely existed for 7 months and it's not easy to go back and forth between realms incognito. This plan being exposed before fruition was a massive step back. Sera was in trouble for unilaterally making such a decision. Hell is a prison and allowing prisoners to escape, if only temporarily, was not something only one Elder could decide. Extermination Day had majority Elder approval, the hotel did not and Emily felt betrayed that her sister lied. Seeing everything tumble down caused Adam to despair. The trial was a chance to make things better for his cause but it looked like it was backfiring. But that wasn't the end of it. Lute tried get them leave since this was not working out but Adam was insistent on staying. Abel and Vaggie, having enough of Lute’s hypocrisy, decided to reveal a secret: Adam's right hand gal, the woman that said she believed redemption was possible, was lying about her Exorcist past. Oh, and she’s Abel’s ex btw. It was the final straw in this whole mess. Having someone he trusted in so much lie to him about something so major broke Adam. This trial was a disaster and the ones who will pay most are Adam’s children in Hell. ++++++ Happy (super belated, I know) 1 year anniversary to this Swap AU! Crazy how things have progressed since my original Hell is Forever animatic, which was meant as a standalone thing before people asked for more. I said I wouldn't make You Didn't Know because of how much the lyrics would have to change to fit into my AU but I changed my mind since I wanted to commemorate this. This song was going to be the first animatic I made but decided against it. This instrumental is my workaround, though I am not much of a lyricist. With that, the trial saga is closed. Obligatory “my Abel design has existed since March 2024 and I have 0 intention on changing it for my AU now that we've seen canon Abel”. I've talked about this in length in my previous upload (Adam vs Abel) so I won't get too into here. This AU has seriously inspired me and I'm glad you guys have joined along for the ride. I can’t wait to see how Abel turns out in season 2. p.s. In the OG show, the big secret in Heaven is Extermination Day. Here, it's the hotel. Makes sense for these scenarios to be reversed. Much easier to hide a few sinners going back and forth between Limbo vs an angelic army charging into a giant portal.
