EVENT DETAILS Date of Service: Tuesday, February 10, 2026 Minister: Mary Wanja Kariuki Theme: "God Goes Before You: Confidence for Daily Living" Devotional: Waiting into Renewal / Our Daily Walk with God (Day 10, Page 23) SHORT DESCRIPTION Are you struggling to trust God on a "Monday morning" basis? While we believe God is powerful, we often let daily anxieties rule our hearts. Today, Mary Wanja Kariuki explores Deuteronomy 31:8, a word spoken during a major transition from Moses to Joshua. Learn why your confidence isn't based on a predictable life, but on a faithful God who prepares your way before you even take a step! MAIN SCRIPTURE Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV): "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." SUPPORTING SCRIPTURES Joshua 1:5: "As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you." Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God." Hebrews 13:5: "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." 1. The Divine GPS: God Goes Before You When Moses handed leadership to Joshua, the people felt the sting of the unknown. God’s response was not to remove the problems but to promise His presence beforehand. Preparation: Before you make a decision or face a challenge, God is already there. He sees what you cannot see and knows what you do not know. Arrangement: He arranges the details of your life. Even when the "promised land" looks unfamiliar, God has already scouted the territory. 2. The Constant Companion: God Stays With You It is one thing for someone to map out a journey; it is another for them to walk it with you. God, fortunately, does both. The Storm Presence: God’s presence isn’t occasional. He is right there in the middle of the struggle, even when He is silent. The Grip of Grace: Think of a child walking with a parent. The child might let go of the parent’s hand, but the parent holds it so tightly that the child never lets go. That is our God. 3. Overcoming the "Fear Rule." Fear focuses on the obstacles ahead, but faith focuses on the God who is already past them. Discouragement: This happens when we focus on how far we have to go. Confidence: This happens when we look back and see how far God has brought us. PRAYER POINTS Use these points to focus your heart today: Prayer for Leading: Lord, I thank You for going before me today. Prepare the path for my next step and my next decision. (Deut 31:8) Prayer for Trust: Holy Spirit, help me to stop trying to "predict" my tomorrow and start trusting the One who holds it. Prayer Against Discouragement: I reject the spirit of fear and dismay. I choose to look at Your faithfulness rather than my obstacles. SHIFTING YOUR PRAYER LANGUAGE The Future: Instead of "Lord, show me what happens next," say "Lord, BE the One who holds my tomorrow." Loneliness: Instead of "Lord, don't leave me alone," say "Lord, You ARE my constant companion." Courage: Instead of "Make my problems go away," say "Lord, BE the confidence that outlasts my fear." THE QUOTE OF THE DAY "When God goes before you, fear loses its power." DECLARATION Repeat this out loud: "I declare today that the Lord Himself goes before me! He prepares my way, He knows my storms, and He will never leave me nor forsake me. I refuse to let fear rule my life or discouragement dim my hope. My confidence is not in my own strength, but in God’s faithfulness. He holds my hand, and He will not let go. In Jesus' Name, Amen!"
