As we leave our favorite beach, the air traffic controller gives us a temporary call sign - FirePilot38Y. We like it! That's not something that we can officially use wherever we go though. We spent 2 full days in sunny and beautiful Destin, Florida. Sometimes, you need a quick trip to reset for the week ahead. Plane ownership and aviation gives you the ability to travel farther and faster in order to maximize your time. As a family, we are blessed that we have this ability. It was cheaper for us to stop at an airport that is north of Destin. The fuel prices are always cheaper. AVGAS in Destin was about $6.50 per gallon. It was $4 per gallon in 79J - Andalusia airport. It's about 20-30 minutes north of Destin. It's a military helicopter training facility and the day we arrived they were hopping! We hope you enjoy this trip.
