Here's a more detailed look at the Bhoot Mela: Location: Palamu district in the state of Jharkhand, India. Purpose: People who believe they are possessed by evil spirits or negative influences visit the village to seek liberation from these forces. Timing: The fair takes place annually during Chaitra Navratri, which lasts for 15 days, which is from the 9th April and continue till 24th April. Temple: The fair is held at the Haidarnagar Devi Dham Temple. Rituals: During the fair, people are believed to visit the temple to free themselves from evil spirits. Other Ghost Fairs: While the Haidarnagar Devi Dham fair is considered the oldest, ghost fairs also take place in Nepal, Malajpur (region) near Chicholi in Betul, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Nepal's Bhoot Mela: The annual "Bhoot Mela" in Nepal takes place on the Kamala River embankments during Kartik Purnima, with people believing bathing in the river wards off evil spirits. Shamans conduct ceremonies for ancestral spirits, with chanters dancing and chanting. About the 'ghost fair' or 'bhoot mela' This annual ghost fair sees thousands of devotees from different parts of the country to participate in this unique fair. It is said that people who are allegedly possessed by ghosts and evil spirits are brought here and as soon as they come here, they start behaving in their possessed form. Once these people are brought here Maa Bhagwati cures them with the help of ‘tantriks’ present at the temple who perform exorcism. As mentioned above, Maa Bhagwati appears here in three forms on Chaitra Navratri. Maa Bhagwati appearing as Pindi, fulfills the wishes of those wanting to have a child. Mother Goddess in Adi Shakti form appears as a black stone idol, which fulfills all the wishes of her devotees'. Apart from this, Maa Bhagwati gives darshan to the devotees in the form of divine power. However, not everyone gets to participate in this darshan. Maa Bhagwati gives darshan only to those devotees who worship the Mother Goddess with true heart and complete faith. Jinn Baba also resides here along with Maa Bhagwati There is no place for jinns in Hindu temples, but this temple is unique because along with Maa Bhagwati, Jinn Baba also has resides in the temple premises. Therefore, this unique feature makes this temple very popular among people of different sects and religions, namely the Hindus and Muslims. People offer sheets of clothes (chadar) to Jinn Baba to seek his blessings and get their wishes fulfilled. According to the temple Mahant apart from Maa Bhagwati and Jinn Baba, Lord Bholenath, Ram Janaki, Brahma Baba, and Maa Sati also reside within the temple premises. Ghosts are imprisoned at Dom Dank For those people coming here to be cured of the ghosts and evil spirits there is a huge Havan Kund within the temple premises, where when the afflicted people are brought here, they start dancing in their possessed form. After this, the tantriks present there allegedly perform exorcism on these people apparently freeing these possessed people of the ghost(s) and evil spirits. These alleged spirits and ghosts are in turn imprisoned by the exorcist who hooks these them on to the Peepal tree located next to the temple which is known as Dom Dak. This way these possessed people are cured. After this, these people are said to be cured from their ghostly possessions and can go to their homes as free and happy people. #bhootmela #VoiceofMaheedhar #MPlanetLeaf #MaheedharsPlanetLeaf #Hinduism #Sanatanadharmam #Bhakti #History #RealFacts #Maheedhar #Facts #Mysteries #historical #trending #bharatavarsha #unknownfacts #ancientscience
