Snak the Show (Eps. 315) - with Bonnie Anderson, Andrea Lyons & Jorge Molina. snak@snaktheshow.com ___________________________ Ted Morris Oh. Hey guys you just disappeared. Well I cannot see you guys at all. How do I get back? Quit zoom and come back in. I'm going to do that. Come back in. Bye. Bye. There you are. All you have to do is believe. So let's talk about Ted. He is a vet. And he's a comedian. They show a clip of Ted Morris performing stand up at the Halifax comedy festival. He's done the Halifax Comedy Fest, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Yuk Yuk's. TV appearances- the Toronto show, The Comedy Network Canadian comedy shorts, Much More Music Heat Meter. His debut comedy album Dawn of the Ted. He shows up on CBC'S The Debaters. He's featured regularly on Global TV on The Morning Show dispensing advice on your weird pets. He appears in drag too, online, under the name Wilhelmina Boxfarts. Ladies and gentlemen, Ted Morris. Yay! Is that you on that t-shirt? It's Willamina yeah. Oh. Fans who make me fan art. What was that spark when you were going to become a comedian, so how did all that happened? So it all started when I was in my very first year of vet school, and one of my classmates was doing some improv and I said oh that sounds like fun. I've always liked performing. So I joined this improv group which then led me to doing a sketch group. Never thought that I was do stand-up but when watching someone do it live for the first time and nothing bad happened. Nobody threw anything at them. I thought okay I'm going to give it a try. I didn't know anything about open mic. I didn't know how any of this worked. So I went to Club 54 in Burlington. The host was a guy called Ben Guyatt. And then that was my first time on stage. Hw was really nice to me. He offered me a weekend spot. Wow! We usually like to go back and find old stuff. But Ted you look exactly the same and you haven't changed so we can't tell what's old. They show a clip of Ted Morris Performing on Comedy Now. Who did you look up to as a comedian. Who inspired you. I just like stand up in general. But the one influence I did have was Shelley Berman. My dad had a Shelley Berman record. Let me play this one. They play a clip of Ted Morris playing at Yuk Yuk's. The Chihuahua I wrote that joke about growled to his dying breath. I was giving him the injection and he's like grr. It sound like a motor running down. You little so-and-so. Haha. They show another clip of Ted performing at the Halifax Comedy Festival. All our cats are named kitty. But they all have formal names. Cats won't come when you call no matter what you call it anyways. So it doesn't matter what you call them. Do you have anything coming up? Comedy To ight with Rick Mercer. That is premiering some time in September on CBC. Ted Morris thank you so much. Bye. That was fabulous. Thank you. That was hilarious. He's a really cool guy because he's a vet and a comedian and he figured out a way to mix those two. You look Pretty in Pink today. I look pretty in pink? Okay. She just gave you the finger. She just gave you the finger. I did. Wow. Like share comment subscribe.
