Where to Stay in Taipei | Our Favorite Hotel in the World: ArTree Hotel | Golden Astrolabe

In March 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, Taiwan was one of the only country in the world to be safe. With many of our trips around Asia being cancelled, we decided to do a staycation in Taipei. As of March 2020, we paid 4,160NTD for one night (approximatively 145 USD), for two people in their Deluxe Room. It is a lively district with many public transports around, which allow you to go around the city very conveniently. The hotel is extraordinarily well decorated, when you are at the heart of city on the outside, you’ll enter a rainforest by the moment you take your first step in the building while keeping the best view of the city. Combining nature, texture and technology, ArTree in not only a designed hotel based on nature theme, but a tree museum. There are 5 types of room aesthetics in the hotel, with their own universe: Orient (where we always stay), Forest, Sand and Lovestone and Rock. Reception is open 24 hours a day with some of the kindest and most helpful staff. Check-in is from 4p.m and check-out is until noon. Both check-in and check out can be accommodated according to the guests needs. Free parking space are provided in the complex. The hotel has a gym but no swimming pool, however you can book a session in their onsen room with an additional cost. They have a lovely lobby with a bar full of snacks, drinks free for everyone to use. The dining room is so well decorated with unique chairs, lamps, … All inspired by nature and wildlife. ArTree provides in each room a free mini bar, a safe, TV, AC and heater, towels, a bathtub and shower, Japanese toilets and the softest slippers and robes you will know.
