After being told that there was a train tied down in Ruffin, NC with NS 3280 and the ID was NS 92Q, I set out early in the morning to give this a chase and pace to remember. Sad to say that with NS rebuilding the 3200-3300 series at a fast rate, this may be my last time doing this with a High Hood SD40-2. I sure hope not, but with 35 left and the year 2013 almost out, we're grateful to still have the remaining ones left onto next year. Anyways, this train was tied down in Ruffin to load up the remaining scrap from last month's minor derailment here in this small, rural town. 0:00 still tied down, NS 36Q passes by in Ruffin, NC Power: NS SD70M-2 NS D9-40C NS D8-40CW 1:40 - the beast awakens! 2:22 - 92Q made a reverse move all the way to CP Swann and here comes 3280 running lite engine only at CP Bentley. 3:12 - After crossing over from track 1 to track 2 at Bentley, 3280 heads back south at CP Stokesland 4:02 - Coming by Fitzgerald St. in Pelham, NC 4:48 - Coming to a stop at Swann In between the last clip and the next clip, 92Q made a reverse move back to Ruffin to load up the remaining scrap before finally getting permission by Dispatcher to head north to Dundee Yard to tie down. 5:19 - Pacing between MP 249 and MP 248 6:50 - Pacing between MP 247 and Swann 11:15 - Last is 92Q blowing for Monument St. and Lynn St. (MP 236.1 and 235.9) before heading to Dundee Yard for the day.
