Man shot in park gets transported to local hospital multiple shell casings found in Oxnard

06-22-25 | OXNARD | 1:30PM | Oxnard Police Department, Oxnard Fire, and Gold Coast paramedics responded to a shooting call. The victim was reported to be in Colonia Park by Juanita Avenue. A victim was found near the basketball courts with a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen and was quickly transported to the hospital. A suspect vehicle was initially being described as a newer model Chrysler 300 with dark wheels. A suspect was being described as a Hispanic male wearing a baby blue sweatshirt and sitting in the back of the vehicle. Police had located multiple shell casings at the basketball court. The incident was under active investigation with no additional information available at this time.
