A Special Arrival at Alton - Rail Adventure HSTs drag 60103 “Flying Scotsman” to the Watercress Line! Enjoy! On the 7th March 2026, World Famous LNER A3 No. 60103 “Flying Scotsman” departed Tyseley on 5Z43 bound for Alton on The Watercress Line with Ex-EMR Blue Liveried Rail Adventure Class 43 HSTs Nos. 43423 & 43467 with the driver giving many tones along the way. The locomotive would be staying at the Watercress Line for 2 and a bit weeks, on static, dining and normal passenger experiences alongside Bulleid Pacific No. 35005 “Canadian Pacific”, Ivatt Tank No. 41312, BR Class 47 No. 47579 “James Nightall G.C.” & BR Class 150 No. 150231. The Rail Adventure HSTs, on the other hand, would be returning up north the next day on 0Z43, however I didn’t have the change to get out to see them. A brilliant moment of teamwork between The Watercress Line, Rail Adventure, The National Railway Museum, Northern Steam, Network Rail & many more! It was amazing to see so many people turn out on Saturday to see the locomotive arrive, as well as see the other sets in use!
