MUA women have been actively organising to assist women in need. MUA’s Tracy Ryan from DP World started a collection for the “Share the Dignity” program where people donate sanitary products to homeless women. Collection boxes were placed in workplaces in Sydney for these items to be donated by the workforce. Victorian member Brenda Easton then initiated a similar campaign which has resulted in both Vic and Tas women collecting in workplaces across the two states. The intention is to continue to expand the campaign across the country with the national women’s reps coordinating. The Vic-Tas women made a promotional video to educate on the need for the donations and to date they have four large basket worth of donations with products that include, tampons, pads, disposable bags, hand sanitiser, heat packs, hot water bottles and deodorant. Estimate $700 worth of product and SPOT 2 Rolling Fund have pledged a financial donation. MUA women involved in the campaign, Branda Easton, Melissa McMullen, Krista Grace, Jess Collis, Bron Moore, Sharon Shumba, Jackie Sibbison, Sarah Ploughman, Bonnie Crow and Alisha Bull.
