IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A MISTAKE IN WRITTING THE EQUATION OF EQULIBRIUM OF SUMMATION OF FX = 0 AT AROUND 08:23 MINS, WHERE TWO MORE COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN MISSED WHICH WOULD BE -R1V'*sin(theta) and -R2V*sin(theta). THUS, THE COMPLETE EQUATION WILL BE: R1H'*cos(theta) - (R1V' + R2V')*sin(theta) +Pnx = 0; where the valuues of R1V and R2V will be obtained from equations summ of Mz1 = 0 and sum of Mz2 = 0. We had started a detailed discussion on the use of equations of equilibrium for statically determinate structures. We had taken up a case where we have used the summation of Mz = 0 equation along with summation of Fx = 0 equation for a sample beam as an alternative to using summation of Fx, Fy and Mz = 0 equations. The question was whether this was a valid use if the equations of equilibrium. The answer has been given in this session with explanation. I hope you like this session.
