Of course, this is not a perfect scientific look at these two incredible options for color grading your footage, but it's enough to show you the basic difference between each. It helped me to differentiate which base grade, to begin with depending on the footage I am working with. I believe that working with any raw footage, I would lean towards the Phantom Lut every time. In a project with any other type of ungraded codec that can't be manipulated as much, I would use the Dehancer built-in color base.
