How to Judge Debate (for NTNU)

This video is intended to give advice to people who are new to judging debate. The most important conclusion is that you should judge in a consistent and predictable way that keeps the control of the outcome in the hands of the debaters as much as possible. I believe that the best way to do this is to vote for whichever team has proven that an argument for their side is true and that it is the most important argument out of those remaining in the debate at the end. This video also covers some terminology, what you can expect from each speech in a PF debate, a helpful analogy (debate is closer to a football game than a dog show), some miscellaneous tips, and an example of a hypothetical debate with an explanation of how I would judge it.
