Some companies make a car, and then turn it into a racer. Others? They build a racer and then sell it as a road car just to fulfill the minimum build requirements. Lancia did it with the Stratos, Ferrari did it... And so did Maserati. So when Ferrari supposedly said 'nah' to running the Enzo in GT1, the task was given to Maserati instead. With the Quattroporte just coming out, and other cars, it made sense to build a halo car for the top of the range. It was on Top Gear, it did a lap... And was only .1 faster than the Enzo, despite being superior in aero and everything else. But this car helped kill off GT1 and usher in the new world of GT3. It was also a car reeled in because of how fast it was. So not only did it kill a series, it's the reason your favourite car is slow in the WEC. So let's have a look at how good it was... Enjoy!
