Work in Progress - NYSDOT Van Wyck Expressway Contract 2, Super Weekend No. 1 April 22nd and 23rd.

Work in Progress at Halmar on our NYSDOT Van Wyck Expressway project. Super weekend, April 22nd and April 23rd 2023, where we removed 2 LIRR Main Line Superstructures over the Van Wyck Expressway and replaced them with new structures on the same weekend. Van Wyck Expressway North & South Bound traffic was slightly diverted but still live next to the work site. LIRR trains in and out of Jamaica Station remain active on the other tracks above and next to the project site. While the project has a tremendous amount of limitations and restrictions, the Halmar crew along with NYSDOT, HDR, Northeast Structural Steel and LIRR, successfully completed the milestone over the weekend. Moving approximately 1092 total tons of superstructure using SPMT. Our second super weekend will be later in 2023.
