Theology or the study of religious faith, practice, and experience generally suggests that "knowing about" Jesus is not the same as "knowing" Him in a way that leads to salvation. How does one come to this conclusion. . . by definition . . to know implies direct familiarity or personal experience, while "to KNOW ABOUT indicates having information without deep personal experience. Know about" is used when you have information or awareness of something but LACK direct experience or deep familiarity. It often comes from learning, reading, or hearing about a subject or a person. There are so many people who meet at church buildings every week that have learned, have read, have heard about Jesus all their life and still DO NO KNOW Jesus at a personal level. This message uses scripture as the basis to understand what is required to know Jesus and ultimately to accept salvation.
